TAMU lecturer, Disrupting for Good author, and Mercy Project founder Chris field has done what he’s arguably most famous for one more time! That’s right! He just reviewed another new Blue Bell Ice Cream flavor!
There’s nothing basic about Blue Bell’s seasonal Spiced Pumpkin Pecan ice cream. It may still be 90 degrees here in Texas but Blue Bell is willing the cooler fall weather to get here one half gallon at a time, and we will be happily waiting with a spoon in our hands.
This flavor is everything you love about Thanksgiving without the family drama or dirty dishes. It’s getting to visit (and re-visit) the dessert table without also having to sit at the kid’s table even though you’re 32. This is Aunt Myrna’s secret recipe without her cheek pinches or interrogation about why you aren’t married yet.
If you love pumpkin stuff, game on. Bring your stretchy pants. If you don’t love pumpkin stuff, I still think it’s worth your time.
Look, I don’t personally even really like pumpkin pie, but I still liked this. The cinnamon-honey-praline sauce is to the spiced pumpkin ice cream as college football is to fall Saturdays. It just plain works. Yay for us.
Thank you Blue Bell. For an ice cream that tastes like fall, smells like fall, and reminds us all that at some point we will be wearing long sleeve shirts and maybe even a light jacket.
Until then, bundle up with a bowl of this on your lap and dream of what’s to come. Cheers!
