Former Tom’s BBQ Manager Still Serves Aggie Special at His Own Joints

According to Texas Monthy, Houston’s Brisket House “Owner Wayne Kammerl started his restaurant career at Tom’s BBQ in College Station. A familiar place to Aggies who dined on the Aggie Special.” The Aggie Special, for the uninitiated, is a half pound of meat, a slice of cheddar, and a raw onion. The Aggie Special comprised the majority of Tom’s sales and Aggies in the Greater Houston area still order it at Wayne Kammerl’s three Brisket House locations.
