Freedmen’s: TM Top 50 BBQ and House-Made Bread, Pickles, Etc… Craft ‘Cue at its Best

A newcomer to the Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ Joints list, the Brisket, house made sausage, and slaw I had at Freedmen’s are certainly worthy of the BBQ pantheon to which they were recently inducted. While I normally skip the bread, they make the focaccia bread served with their cue in-house and I ate every delicious slice. The service was top notch and Lily, my server and bartender was friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about the meats and craft cocktails she was proudly serving.
