Using locally grown farm fresh tomatoes, Cindy Blake, of the nearby Triple Creek Farm and Ranch will guide you through your hands-on experience preserving tomatoes.
First, we will start with a tomato tasting. Just like a Merlot or Cabernet wine, each tomato variety has its own characteristic flavor and texture. Cherry, Roma, Beefsteak, and heirloom tomatoes – see for yourself which varieties work best for what purpose. We will even give some ideas for what to do with green tomatoes.
Then we will discover three delicious ways to preserve and enjoy garden grown tomatoes. Two class dates are offered for your convenience: Saturday, June 3 or Thursday June 15. Mark your calendars now and reserve your spot for this hands-on workshop at the Rock Lake Ranch kitchen.
